You have to approach life in Siberia with a bit of humor. Today I read a joke in a Russian magazine that went like this: “We wintered out the winter. Now we’ll winter out the spring.”

Friday it was nearly 70 F. Then the next day the high was around 0 F. And Sunday morning we woke up to this little surprise. It won’t last long, but it does give a sense of dejà vu.

My experience tells me that snowstorms are typical for late April. I have photos from one year when on May 1 we were walking in a winter wonderland.

It won’t last long. (Did I say that already?) Meanwhile, it’s back to the hats and gloves.
